In light of COVID-19, all events will be reimagined and offered in a virtual format only. We will continue to provide quality resource-filled events that inform you and support your student’s UC San Diego experience.

Due to the nature of Homecoming 2020 moving to a virtual platform at no cost to parents and families, Fee Waivers are not applicable.

  • What are fee waiver funds?

Funds are available to waive registration costs for Homecoming Weekend. Funds apply to Homecoming Weekend registration fees for 3 guests and 1 enrolled UC San Diego student. Other events occurring during Homecoming Weekend that require additional costs will not be covered by the fee waiver.

  • Who can apply for a fee waiver?

Families of currently enrolled undergraduate students interested in attending Homecoming Weekend can submit a Fee Waiver Application. Parent & Family Programs will work with the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office to confirm financial need and will respond directly to families about the status of their Fee Waiver Application and other information related to Homecoming Weekend.

  • When should the application be submitted?

We accept and review Fee Waiver Applications on an ongoing first-come basis beginning August. To be considered for the fee waiver, please submit your application by the end of September. Funds will be dispersed until no longer available.

  • What happens if I am granted a fee waiver and do not use it?

There is a limited amount of fee waiver funds available. If you are approved for a fee waiver, it is important you use it or cancel your registration with our office. Families approved for and/or registered for Homecoming Weekend who do not show up and do not cancel by the dealine, will be asked to refund the fund originally granted to participate in the weekend events. Please let us know if anything changes in your schedule that may prevent you from participating in Homecoming Weekend. Your advance cancellation could allow waitlisted families to attend in your place.
