What is Siblings Day?

Siblings Day is a fun-filled day sponsored by the Parent & Family Programs Office. UC San Diego students host brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, or family friends (ages 7-16).

Family members, parents and friends are invited to participate in Siblings Day. The only requirement is that you must have at least one UC San Diego student attend and serve as a host to the younger participant.

When is Siblings Day?

Can I get directions to UC San Diego?

For comprehensive directions to UC San Diego, please see our Parking and Directions page. There is no fee for parking on the weekends. Parking is permitted anywhere on campus, except for spaces designated Reserved 24/7, handicap, unmarked, and unloading/loading only spaces. 

Is there a phone number I can call on the day of the event?

Yes. Since we will be out of the office to execute the event, you can reach us via our work cell phone at (858) 352-8212. The service is live beginning Saturday January 27 at 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Where is Siblings Day located at UC San Diego?

Check-In is at the Multipurpose Room, Student Services Center between 8 and 9 a.m.. The Multipurpose Room will serve as the central location for the majority of the day. The day will occur at various places on campus. Please check the schedule for locations to all activities for the day.

Are overnight accommodations available?

On-campus accommodations are NOT provided for Siblings Day. If your family spends the weekend in San Diego, please consider making reservations at any of the Bartell Hotels and receive a special UC San Diego Triton Family discounted rate!

Do you provide mobility service?

Yes. If someone in your family cannot walk long distances or are hurt, we provide cart service from one activitty to another or to/from parking structure. Please call the mobility hotline at (858) 352-8246 beginning Saturday January 27 at 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

Who can come to Siblings Day?

Students, siblings, family members, friends, and parents are all invited to participate in Siblings Day. All activities will be catered towards guests ages 7-16. 

Family members are welcome and must register AND your UC San Diego student must be registered to serve as a host to the younger participant(s).

Do I have to bring a sibling?

You do not have to bring a sibling to join in the fun of Siblings Day. You may invite a niece, nephew, cousin, or family member, or friend (ages 7-16) to join you for the day.

When can I register?

Registration is open. Registration closes when spaces fill up.

Where do I check in for Siblings Day?

The Multipurpose Room near the Student Services Center from 8:00-9:00 AM.

Do I need to complete a liability form?

Yes, each participant, including the UC San Diego student, is required to complete a liability form by checking the box on the online registration form to participate in Siblings Day. By checking the box on the online registration form you are consenting to the liability of waiver for Siblings Day. If you would like a PDF copy of the liability waiver, please e-mail us at

A liability waiver is needed in order for you (the parent) to grant permission for your child (7-16) to participate in the activities of Siblings Day.

Is there a refund policy?

Please consult with your student about their academic obligations or any other obligations during this time and agree on whether or not to participate in Siblings Day. Once your family is registered, refunds for any reason, will not be granted.

Is there a cost for Siblings Day?

The registration fee is $35 per participant and $20 per UC San Diego student, and covers all meals, activities, a Siblings day souvenir t-shirt and more. For families in need, there is a fee waiver application available on a first come, first serve basis. Visit the registration page to sign up.

How can I pay for Siblings Day?

See the registration page for more details. Payment can only be made with a credit or debit card (Visa or Mastercard ONLY) online.

How do I know I successfully completed the registration process?

Upon completing the registration process, you'll receive a confirmation via e-mail. You can also call us at (858) 534-7273 or email

You will also receive an e-mail confirmation before the event with more information about the day. Check the Siblings Day webpage regularly for updates. 

Can parents or family members come to Siblings Day?

Absolutely! Please register and note the $35 registration fee is per person.  Remember the day is geared to college students and children 7-16.

How do I add someone or make changes to my existing registration?

Once you've registered, you can return to our online registration system through the Registration link. 

On the right hand side click on "View or Change Your Existing Registration." Log in with your email address and password (if applicable). If you forgot your password, click on "Forgot Your Password?" and our registration system will send you a temporary password to access your information.

This information is also available on your confirmation email.
