Accessing Your Student's Bill
To access your student's bill and perform transactions on behalf of your student, your student must set you up in TritonPay as an Authorized Payer.
TritonLink (Students Only)
TritonLink is your student's portal. It’s also how your student can access TritonPay, where they can provide a parent with access to view their bill and reset parent access when there are login issues. Parents cannot access TritonPay to view or pay a student’s bill until they are invited to become an authorized payer and set up their own TritonLink account.
Authorized Payer Portal
Once you are made an authorized payer, you’ll have access to TritonPay to view and pay your student’s bill. For Student Financial Solutions to provide details regarding your student's account, you must be set up as an authorized payer. Otherwise, Student Financial Solutions cannot share any details about your student’s account with you.
Obtaining Authorization from Your Student
Students may authorize up to three payers to view and pay their university bill. Students can also cancel any authorized payer at any time.
Check out this step-by-step tutorial video on how students can authorize payers, how payers can create their own portal login, and some helpful troubleshooting info.
Important note: Once your student has authorized you as a payer, you will receive an email with instructions to create a login to view your student's billing portal. You must do this within 14 days of receiving the email.
Viewing and Paying Your Student’s Bill
Once you are set up as an authorized payer, you can view and pay your student’s bill by logging into TritonLink. Check out this step by step guide about navigating your student’s account (PDF) for more details.
There are several different ways to pay your student's bill, including:
- E-check

- Other payment options (i.e., cashier’s check)
- Financial aid and scholarships funds

Creating Your Personal TritonPay Login
After your student has authorized you as a payer:
- You will receive an e-mail notice from no-reply-sfs@ucsd.edu with the subject line "[Student Name] has created an account for you at the University of San Diego". Follow the directions in that message to set up your username and password.
- You may need to clear your browser's cookies or browser history before you can successfully log in using your new username and password through the Billing & Payments page.
Troubleshooting Your Login
Having trouble logging into TritonPay as an authorized payer?
You may not be able to access your student’s bill because you did not create your login credentials within the 14 days of receiving instructions from no-reply-sfs@ucsd.edu. If that’s the case:
- Ask your student to review how to authorize payers (video) and have them try reauthorizing your authorized payer access.
- When you receive your authorization email from no-reply-sfs@ucsd.edu, create your credentials immediately.
If you’re sure you don’t need to reset your authorization, try these tips:
- Clear your browser or your cookies and wait a few minutes before logging in again.
- Try using another browser (i.e. Chrome, Mozilla, Internet Explorer).
- Your student may have made changes to who can view their records:
- Talk to your student about changes that they may have made.
- Remember, authorizing a third party to view the student's bill is not required by the university.
- If none of the suggestions resolve the issue, contact Student Financial Solutions at (858) 946-4160 or submit a ticket via the Student Financial Solutions Services & Support Portal.
