Parents Fund Spotlight

Over 40 student organizations, colleges, and programs were supported by the Parents Fund during the 2024-25 academic year. From conferences and competitions to lectures and socials, the Parents Fund plays a significant role in enriching the student experience at UC San Diego.

Society of Civil and Structural Engineering

"Being involved in the ASCE Pacific Southwest Symposium has greatly impacted my time here as a student. It has given a way to express my passion for structural engineering and allows me to give physical example to concepts we learn in class. Beyond that I've found a family within my team and couldn't imagine going through college without them." — Carter Iwanaga, Co-Project Manager

Nigerian Student Association

"The Nigerian Student Coalition Conference has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my time at UC San Diego. Coordinating an event of this scale taught me valuable skills in event planning, communication, and teamwork. These are skills I know I’ll carry beyond college, and it reminded me how powerful student-led initiatives can be in building community and creating spaces where everyone feels seen and celebrated." — Dilora Obilo, NSA Board Member

TEDxUCSanDiego

"The TEDxUCSanDiego conference gave me a space to step back and think about what matters, what moves me, and what kind of impact I want to have. It was more than just inspiring talks; it sparked real reflection and connection." — Clarissah, Attendee
