Homecoming is scheduled during a crucial time of the new student’s transition of college life. Homecoming is a traditional event inviting all families to experience UC San Diego in a fun way, assist families to visualize their student’s college life, and bond as a family.

Siblings Day

Siblings Day promotes college-going, illustrates the UC San Diego college experience and brings families together to participate in a variety of activities. Welcoming siblings and other younger family members (ages 7 -16), Siblings Day has shown to strengthen the college student’s relationship with their family members.

Parent & Family Orientation

This program is for parents and families of all students beginning college in the fall. Your student’s college host this program which provides information about the culture of the college and sessions on paying tuition, student health services, campus safety, and more. Click on your student’s college to read about and register for the program.

Depending on the college, this program is scheduled for one day during the week of September 20. Attend the same orientation date as your student.

International Parent & Family Orientation

The International Parent & Family Orientation is a college transition program introducing families of new international undergraduate students to UC San Diego resources and services. Parents and families learn about academic, social, wellness, and cultural transitions that will influence their student’s experience, resources that support their student’s first year at UC San Diego, and ways the Office of Parent & Family Programs teams with campus offices to support their UC San Diego experience.
