Family Calendar and Tips of the Month
Tips and Conversation Starters: May
Tips of the Month
- Finals are approaching! Check in with your student about their stress levels and their wellbeing. The Zone offers some great stress relieving activities during finals week so your student can take some healthy breaks from studying.
- Families of graduating students: Celebrate your senior! Grad Fair and Grad Night take place in May. Check in with your student to make sure these events are on their radar!
- Families of graduating students: What’s on your student’s UC San Diego bucket list? Visit the Fallen Star? See a show at the La Jolla Playhouse? Picnic at the cliffs? Now’s the time to chat with your student about making the most of their final weeks as a student.
- Plan for moving out. Your student will receive email communication from Housing Dining Hospitality about move-out. Minimize the move-out chaos by talking to your student about their move-out instructions and developing a plan to move out of their on-campus residence for the summer.
Conversation Starters
- How do you feel this year went? What was a highlight? What was a challenge? Did anything surprise you?
- What classes are you taking next fall? Which are you most excited for? Will any of your classes from this year help you in your courses next year?
- Have you connected with an academic advisor recently? How did your meeting go?
