Supporting Your Student's Life On Campus

UC San Diego is home to more than 30,000 diverse students. A student’s life and experience at UC San Diego is dependent on the identities they possess including culture, values, language, geography, previous education, and more. No one student will experience this campus in the same way, even if one student may physically look the same as another student. Every student will face some form of a challenge or transition as they move through the campus. As a family member, this information provides context to your student’s experience, how you might gain a greater understanding of their daily campus life and how resources can help your student succeed.

UC San Diego’s Principles of Community illustrate expectations of all members of our community and support student development and learning across campus.
