Permits and ParkMobile
Parking at UC San Diego requires a paid parking permit, but purchasing one is easy with the ParkMobile app! You can also purchase permits at pay stations in each parking structure.
Don't want to deal with parking?
Take a ride on the trolley! UC San Diego is home to its very own trolley stop, conveniently located in the heart of campus. Take the MTS Blue Line to the UCSD Central Campus Station and skip the hassle of parking!
Where to Park for Family Weekend
Follow these parking guidelines for a smooth and frustration-free Family Weekend experience.
Friday Before 4 p.m.
Guests arriving earlier in the day on Friday are encouraged to park in visitor spaces (marked with a white V on the ground) in the Hopkins or Theatre District parking structures.Once parked, jump on the Inside Loop Shuttle for convenient access to central campus.
When paying for parking, use Zone 4752 in ParkMobile for V spots in Hopkins and Theatre District.
Friday After 4 p.m.
Guests arriving in the late afternoon on Friday are encouraged to park in Gilman Parking structure.Please note:visitor parking in Gilman is limited to 2 hours. Plan to park in any spaces marked A or B.
When paying for parking, use Zone 4752 in ParkMobile for A and B spots.
Saturday All Day
Guests are encouraged to park in Scholars, Pangea, or Hopkins parking structures for most convenient access to Saturday's Family Weekend events.When paying for parking, use Zone 4752 in ParkMobile for A, B, and V spots.
Getting Around Campus
Mobility Shuttle
Our Family Weekend mobility shuttle is available on Friday from 4 - 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. If you or anyone in your party needs assistance getting around campus, call 858-239-6845 during these hours and we'll arrange to pick you up.
Inside Loop Shuttle
Take the Inside Loop shuttle for easy transportation around campus! The Inside Loop shuttle runs from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on weekends and stops at convenient places like Hopkins Parking Structure.
